Grand Chelem is aware that the majority of negative environmental impacts occur at the level of raw materials and has adopted a strategy to bring all production in-house by 2028, resulting in absolute transparency and accountability in terms of the house’s supply chain.
Whether its textiles, hides or precious metals and stones, the house is committed to implementing best practice in accordance with United Nations key documents. For example, from 2024 the house will be using only recycled gold in the production of its jewellery, reducing emissions in CO2 terms by a factor of more than 90% with respect to traditionally mined and produced gold. The house’s complicity in any human rights violations such as child labour, the exploitation and displacement of vulnerable communities, the contamination of drinking water and conflict funding often associated with traditional gold mining is therefore eliminated.
